Domain Name Search Bot

domain name search bot
using bots to steal domains?

Some people can use bots to steal domains at the last minute on SnapNames.com companies like 260.com (aka Anthony Peppler who as of Sept 11th, 2007 is being sued by Microsoft for 9.5 million for cybersquatting) has done this and alot of companies like his (most of these companies use thousands of generic domain names for paid search and development purposes sometimes regardless if it’s trademark fraud or not.)

Does anyone know how they can use a bot at the last minute to win a bid on SnapNames.com and wouldn’t this be against ICANN violations. It seems SnapNames.com is aware of this but yet they don’t seem to do anything about it. I had a friend who had a domain stolen from him in the last second from a company like 260.com because they used a bot.

I have aquired one of my domains through godaddy.com by putting an advance request for the domain. The moment the domain became available godaddy purchased it for me.
