domain name search box code
Why does Google list my website as index instead of its proper name and details? Please Help!!!?

Hi, I have just launches a website and I linked it to Google. But when I go to google and put my name into the search box so that i can see if my website comes up this is what my description is that is connected to my website:

Index of /[DIR]
Parent Directory 08-Jan-2008 13:21 – [DIR] cgi-bin/ 08-Jan-2008 08:35 – [ DIR] imagelib/ 02-Sep-2008 13:54 – [DIR] sitebuildercontent/ 11-Sep-2008 …

I used crazy domains to build my website and it has a section where you can put a description of your website but it wont accept HTML codes or anythingb like that. Why wont google display my chosen title and description for my website What can I do?

My URL is www.lauracaradonna.com

Apparently, you’ve had the domain for some time (since about 1/2008, it would look like), but only recently put up an actual site.

Google needs to re-index your site, as the information listed is the old directory structure from before you had a working index page. Give it time – when more people start to link to your site, your page rank will go up, and the entry in the result list will be updated.

One tip, though:

Put some actual content on your landing page (the page people see when they visit your site) – Google HATES pages without actual content, and makes them appear very, very low in result listings – if they show up at all.

No “Welcome” page – they’re the most redundant thing on the internet. A simple little introduction about what you do (like your “about” page), maybe some articles about your field of work – keep it fresh, keep it updated, and keep it interesting. But add some *real* content.
