I want to know number of hits on any given domain name, where do I go?????how do I do it????
I would love to know the best site or search engine and how I can look up the number of hits any given domain name gets from any given search engine. i.e. yahoo-google-ask-or any other popular search engine. This is all obviously for business purposes when it’s time to purchase domain names or related services respectivley for my site and or my business. this as some know is a great aid and I seem to have missed out on that day in school. hahaha. If you can be of assistance please help. sincerely, stuck on stupid.
I don’t believe that what you are asking for is available. I don’t think there is anyone monitoring every site to see where their hits are coming from.
Every site has the option of tracking their own visitors with a number of stats packages and server logs are available on every server out there but no one source that brings them all together.
Alexa will give a good idea of which sites are popular based on info they collect through users of their toolbar but they don’t track which search engine directed that traffic and their numbers represent a fraction of the real traffic.
There are services that can provide stats regarding what keywords (and keyword phrases) are searched on certain search engines but there is no one source that tracks all search engines.
Unless I have totally misunderstood your question – there is no way.
