Note: No programming skills required
What is needed: A domain name and a host to host your domain.
Note: Domain and host are two different things
So what exactly is domain?
Domain is actually just the name of the site. For example, example.com. After registering a domain, the website is yours and no one else has the rights to edit contents of the website. This will usually cost money.
What is a host?
After getting a domain, you just own that website but you cannot place contents on the website. Therefore what you will need is a host. Host has a folder which you can upload files into it such as html files which can be viewed by people who enter your website.
Steps required to set up a website
1) You need to register a domain name. To register your domain: Go to namecheap or godaddy Go meancoupons and search for coupon codes for discount.
2) Get a host at hostgator. Also search for coupon codes to reduce the cost.
3) Update nameserver at the place where you registered your domain. The nameserver is sent to you by email by your host.
4) Go to yourdomain.com/cpanel and type in your username and password for the host account
5) Open up file manager and now you are ready to upload files. Upload files up to the public_html folder and name it “index” so that it can be viewed when people enter your website. For free themes: themebot
Now your webpage is up and can be viewed online!
