Help! My old inactive blog keeps coming up in Google and my new one wont. ?
I recently purchased a domain name through Go Daddy and started up a blog with Go Daddy’s Quick Blogcast tool. I didn’t like the blog templates and the fact that I couldn’t make very many changes so I switched over to Wordpress.
The thing is, now when I google my site, I only get the old pages and an ‘Oops the page you have requested is not here’. Even though I have recreated those pages in Wordpress. How do I get those pages removed from Google and my new active pages in the search index?
You basically just need to wait for the cache to catch up with the change, which might take a week or two.
Your new website has not been picked up by the search engine yet, and the old one is stuck in the cache. The old one should disappear any day soon; if the new one still doesn’t come up then, you might need to change the text content of your blog to make it possible for Google to pick it up.
